Register now for Spring 2018 Connect Training.  CONNECT has replaced Starfish as the documentation tool for Academic Advising across campus. Come learn what CONNECT offers and how to best utilize this exciting new tool as an academic advisor! Technology training sessions on CONNECT are offered by the Director for Academic Advising Systems and team.

Banner XE Navigation (Banner 9) Training

Banner XE (Banner 9) modernizes Banner by delivering a new UI (user interface) and updating the technology used to develop administrative forms and the self-service tools faculty, staff, and student’s access. Advisors will commonly user Banner Native to: update advisor assignments, provide permission for students to enroll in courses or to find additional student information not commonly found using Banner Self Service. This introductory workshop will cover the following topics:

  • The basic navigation of pages including the page header, notification center, key block, sections, and buttons.
  • Searching for Banner Pages
  • Lookup Feature
  • Using the Help feature
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
  • Data export
  • Item properties

DegreeWorks is a web-based planning tool to help students and advisors monitor student progress toward degree completion in an easy to read layout. It will show what courses must be completed to achieve a degree. DegreeWorks will replace CAPP as a degree planning tool.
