Majors and Minors

What is a Major?

A major is a student's primary field of study.  There are required courses that you must take in order to receive a degree in the major.

What is a Major Concentration?

A major concentration is a focus within a major. For example, Public Relations is a concentration within the Communications Studies major.

What is a Minor?

A minor is an optional secondary field of study.  It requires fewer credits than the major.  The minor must be different from the major and you must meet the requirements for acceptance into the minor program.
